They are used to divide a building into smoke zones and have DH fire resistance class, thus limiting the spread of smoke for up to 30 minutes. Their construction is based on a smoke-tight glass-fibre fabric with a polyurethane coating. They are most often anchored directly to a concrete or steel structure. Compared with FK ROLL SMOKE, the static smoke barrier FK SMOKE is permanently visible — both in the rest position and in standby mode.

It is most often used in industrial buildings such as production halls or warehouses, where aesthetics are not a priority. It is also suitable where cable trays, pipework or other services run beneath the roof, as FK SMOKE can be adapted to them during installation.

This smoke screen has no headbox and no control system, which also makes it cheaper than FK ROLL SMOKE.
